Less Bricks, More Clicks

When A Fine Line opened 31/2 years ago, owner Jeanne Dwan had plans to showcase absolutely everything everyone would ever need to make every celebration a special event.  Shoppers have grown accustomed to finding just the right cards, invitations, jewelry, accessories, gifts and “haute décor” items to fit every budget.

A Fine Line has also seen the Invitation Department become a huge success; and that business continues to grow as we have become a major player in the wedding and event industry.  To accommodate the multiple appointments we have on any given day, we will be dedicating more of our boutique space to our stationery and invitation department. 

Over the years, Jeanne has explored market trends, studied the purchase data within her store, and received helpful input from her many clients – her friends.  She has come to the conclusion that with the summer rapidly approaching, now is the time to focus the retail business on the PREMIER OF AFL ONLINE which will make its debut some time after Labor Day.  In the age of internet shopping, what A Fine Line needs is less bricks, and more “clicks”.

Please pardon our dust as we remodel to create a more intimate invitation salon and retail shopping experience.  Within the next couple of weeks you will see the start of construction and the gradual movement of furniture and displays in our "brick and mortar" boutique.  Although a bit smaller, our retail store will still feature your favorite “staples” –specialty greeting cards, scented candles, jewelry, fragrances, home décor, unique gifts – and of course the super cute displays for which AFL is known.  The Readers of Tucson Lifestyle voted AFL the 2012 BEST OF THE CITY as the “Best Place to Buy a Special Gift”, and we intend to retain that title.

The fact that we will be consolidating space, energy and resources over the summer means that we will be able to open the Fall/Holiday Season with a bigger and better retail store, featuring all of the great merchandise and Seasonal displays which our shoppers look forward to.

Those of us who have the pleasure of shopping at A Fine Line can name a number of favorite items carried here:  home decor, specialty gifts, jewelry, shoes, bags, etc.  At the core of this special-events boutique, however, is the stationery. 

 After all, the invitation is the first item your guests will see as it sets the tone for the celebration to come.  Over the past several years, the Invitation Specialists at A Fine Line have enjoyed the honor of helping couples select wedding invitations, as well as Escort Cards, Programs, Menu Cards and Place Cards, ensuring that the day is exactly as envisioned from beginning to end.

Of course, it's not only brides who utilize our personal Stationery Advisors.  We have had the pleasure of helping people design invitations for a variety of Charity Events, Anniversary Parties, Birthdays, Baby Announcements and Bar/Bat Mitzvahs.

Holiday merriment in full swing at A Fine Line

It's the most wonderful time of the year...

We love the Holidays!  Although busy, it truly is the most wonderful time of the year.  All the festivities and merriment just add to the fun.  We've got lots going on here at AFL and thought we'd take a moment to share some of it with you.  Be sure to read all the way through to the end, because we have so many special events planned, and we'd hate for you to miss out.

Our special guest is local author Sally Knipe with her children's storybook The Angel with the Broken Wings. This beautifully illustrated book gives the message that when God 'fixes' us we are even more beautiful than before.

About the author:  Sally Knipe is a local author that has finally fulfilled her longtime desire to write a children's book. Her favorite children's book was "The Littlest Angel" and so it was not strange that her book is also about an angel. "The Angel with the Broken Wings" was born from a personal experience with her eight year old grandson.  There are lessons to be learned throughout the book as the story unfolds about a boy and an angel who could be considered a bit 'magical'....

Sally Knipe has lived in Tucson for over 40 years and has four children, seven grandchildren and has fostered over sixty children throughout the years. She has written many poems and several Bible studies and loves to write, makes handmade cards and decorate her home and others. She and her husband, Jim, have a full retirement life.
