Local artist, Deborah Jassem at AFL

 

A Fine Line is proud to introduce Kumihimo-style Jewelry that is designed and hand-crafted by local artist, Deborah Jassem,

You are invited to attend an exclusive 5-day trunk show, Tuesday, May 1st - Saturday, May 5th. And, Just in time for Mother's Day, we are offering a SHOW SPECIAL of 20% OFF on her work during this event only.

We will be open late on Thursday evening , May 3rd with a special Artist's Cocktail Reception from 4-7pm. Please plan to join us to welcome this talented lady.

You will also have an opportunity to meet Deborah on Saturday, May 5th from 10am-2pm. She'll be answering questions about her work and demonstrating the ancient Japanese art of braiding that she uses in these masterpieces.

 Kumihimo - the Japanese art of braiding with cords is believed to have began around 550 A.D. for decorative use in Buddhist religious ceremonies. In the 21st century beads started being incorporated. Deborah's pieces are designed and hand-crafted using a variety of beads and embellishments and woven with materials including satin, leather and silk. Most of the beads are handcrafted in the USA by highly skilled glassblowers using only the finest borosilicate glass that is worked and kiln annealed at a much higher temperatures than ordinary glass, producing a stronger, more durable bead and richer natural colors.

The Artist, Deborah Jassem, has made Tucson her home since 1998. Originally from Hartford, Connecticut she has worked in the non-profit sector as a development professional for over 25 years. She is currently the Director of Philanthropy for Tohono Chul Park.

The new spring collection from Lindsey Phillips is here!  They are STUNNING and COMFORTABLE, FUN and FLIRTY!

Available in Black Patent, White Gold or Coral these designs are my favorite yet!  I unpacked the shipment yesterday and promptly put on a Black pair to check out the comfort.  They did not disappoint.

Capture your pet in a portrait by Donna Stover

Meet Donna Stover, Pet Portrait Artist, during our Spring Shopping Event on Thursday, April 12th from 10am to 7pm.  Donna will be demonstrating her painting technique and talent as she works on a pet portrait in oils.  She will also have some of her original oil paintings on display.

Many of you have delighted in the darling greeting cards that we carry by Donna Stover.  Now you have the opportunity to have your pet captured in her artwork.  Donna will paint your special friend from a photograph, uniquely capturing your pet's personality in the process.  Portraits start at $150.

Her display will be set up Thursday-Saturday, April 14-16th in our "Parisian-style Flea Market" and orders will be taken throughout the event.

An Exquisite New Collection of Jewelry has arrived!

An exciting new collection of jewelry has arrived at AFL and it is EXQUISITE!  Well worth the wait and here just in time for our Spring Shopping Event.

I discovered these designs in January during my buying trip in Atlanta and have been anxiously awaiting the arrival of the new collection!  They took some time to get here because they are handcrafted in Northern California with hand-pressed glass intaglios made in a small Bavarian village, using original steel molds and techniques unchanged from the 1800s!

Their designs have been featured in Vogue, Elle, Glamour, and Lucky Magazines. They are available in some of the finest stores around the world, including Harrods, and in Fine Art Museums in the US, Europe, Japan and Australia.

Springtime Entertaining Tips by Marguerite Brown

As part of the "I Love Paris in the Spring Time" Shopping Event, A Fine Line is pleased to host a presentation by Marguerite Brown, owner of Event Productions. On Friday, April 13th at 11:30am  Marguerite will share tips on SPRINGTIME ENTERTAINING.  We are excited to have Marguerite inspire us as she shares her expertise with us.  Not only are her ideas creative and fun, but they are entirely doable.

Marguerite is well-known throughout Tucson and Phoenix for her event-planning skills and philanthropic nature. Marguerite began her business in 1986 in Phoenix after creating the Phoenix Invitational Polo Cup, which raised more than $2million dollars for the Phoenix Crisis Nursery. Her career has continued with numerous corporate and non-profit clients - the 1986 Phoenix Symphony Ball, the Grand Opening of the Princess Hotel, The Phoenix Corporate Center, The Tucson Cancer Center - UMC North, La Encantada, Diamond Children's Medical Center, The Diamond Children's Gala and the 2012 Mash Bash.  In addition she has worked on so many private parties and weddings that she can't keep count!
